About the Comprehensive Housing Strategy
On Tuesday, May 4, the Council appointed 28 members to a comprehensive housing strategy task force, proposed in 2003 to study the city’s housing needs and draft a plan that provides policies and strategies to address them.
The task force consists of private citizens, government officials, affordable housing advocates, representatives of financial institutions, housing policy experts and nonprofit and for-profit residential developers. The Task Force members were nominated by Mayor Anthony A. Williams and will have one year to develop a housing strategy.
CHSTF Releases Draft Executive Summary and Solicits Public Comment
The CHSTF invites public comment on the draft executive summary which includes major housing recommendations that will affect housing policy in the District for the next ten years. Please visit the online public bulletin board and give us your opinion on the draft recommendations. Additional comments may also be submitted to the Task Force in writing.
